Mark Smith better known as Mars Kidd (stage name) is an up and coming recording artist from Aurora, IL. Mars has been musically inclined since a child. Since then he has been working on perfecting his skills as an artist who raps, sings, and dances on occasion. In his spare time, he enjoys working with the local artist in “The Basement”. The Basement is his in home studio where he works on all of his projects. He names his latest EP The Basement to give his listeners a better feel on his day to day life. He explains that The Basement is where his vision first started. What makes Mars Kidd so special is his love for music and having the ability to write, create, live his dream and fulfill his purpose. When Mars was born, the doctors stated that he had a heart defect called Left Hypo-Plastic heart syndrome and that he wouldn’t live past the age of three. By the grace of God, Mars has lived a healthy life for over 20 years. He’s had three open heart surgeries, but you wouldn’t be able to tell because he’s strong and acts so normal. He’s a go-getter. He’s been able to perform with the Awesome Jennifer Hudson, he’s created a few mixtapes and EP’s and now he’s working on his album. Mars is here to show you his life the way he sees it. In his music, he gives you the struggle, the good, the bad, and the excitement. To be great and succeed are his only options.
